Peacefully after suffering a brain bleed on Father's Day, June 18, 2023.

Loving husband of Nel (van Hartingsveldt) for 66 years, father of William (Karen Newhouse). Francine (Richard) Brouwer, Sharon (Lawrence) Overbeeke, Derrick (Michelle Beeke), Lena (Jeff) Beeke, Janna (Darrell) Stubbe. Admired Opa to 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren. Survived by sister Cynthia Scout of Lindsay.

Dad was a man of quiet faith, contentment, and commitment to his community. His greatest joy was to be surrounded by his family.

Dad was born in Barneveld, The Netherlands in 1934, and came to Canada in 1954. He enjoyed a long career in civil engineering, and upon retirement drove a school bus for Jordan Christian School, with many of his grandchildren on his route.

Dad was a natural athlete, and spent many hours attending his grandchildren's games. He loved to carve, and spent his time meticulously crafting toys for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

We will miss Dad, but rest assured in the hope he expressed in his Saviour.

Visitation will take place at Tallman Funeral Homes (3277 King St, Vineland) from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 7:00 - 9:00pm on Thursday June 22nd. Funeral Service will take place on Friday June 23rd at Heritage Reformed Congregation (4171 Fifteenth St, Jordan Station) at 12 noon with visitation for out of town guests one hour prior. Interment to follow at Vineland Cemetery.
