Obituary of Darlene Hope Mowat
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Darlene Hope Mowat (nee Langford), 64, as the result of a tragic accident while following her dream. She passed peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born on Sept. 11, 1958 and passed to glory on July 13, 2023. Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Fraser, children Ken (Rachel), Angela (Rouel) Hopman and Cassie (Wayne) Faragher. Also survived by her father, Albert Langford, grandchildren Madyson, Cayden, Jadyn, Nevaeh and step grandchildren Kelsey, Tianna, Megan and Lyla, and her siblings Victoria (Gerry) Tanzola, Stephen (Rob), Tim (Kim), Connie (Greg) Wilson and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Darlene loved God and devoted her life to being the “hands and feet of Jesus”. She had a huge heart for homeless, marginalized, grieving and just any person that was in need. She opened her home to many people over the years and was a mentor to many young women finding their way in life.
The family would like to extend their thanks to the Trauma and ICU teams at Hamilton General Hospital for the care, diligence, empathy and dignity in which Darlene was treated in her time there.
They would also give a special thank you to Kathryn Bell of the Trillium Foundation for facilitating the successful transplants of her kidneys in two individuals, one of those being a successful directed donation to a friend of the family.
Visitation will be Friday July 21 from 6-8 pm and Saturday July 22 from 12-1:30 pm at Bethany Community Church, 1388 Third St. Louth, St. Catharines. A Celebration of Life will be held at the church on Saturday July 22 at 2 pm.
