Obituary of Barbara Jutta Wiens

WIENS, Barbara Jutta (nee Witt), died at Hamilton General Hospital on Friday, November 11, 2016. Born in Brasdorf (Koenigsberg) Germany on March 21, 1939, she came to Vineland, Ontario in 1950 and to Niagara On The Lake in 1952. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John (Hans-Juergen) Wiens; and her children, Greta, Peter (Karen), Victor (Lesley), Betty, Martin (Gerda), Linda Prickett (Gary), Esther Tiedtke (Heiko), twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is also survived by her siblings, Hildegard Tela Lamer, Hans Witt (Ela), Margaret Scheike (Heinz), Christa, and Ulrich Witt (Jean); predeceased by sisters, Brigitte Belau (Erwin) and Elisabeth (Gutzeit (Lorenz). The family will receive friends at the Niagara United Mennonite Church, 1775 Niagara Stone Road (Hwy. 55) Virgil on Tuesday, November 15th from 2-4 and 7-8:30 pm. Funeral Service in the church on Wednesday at 10:30 am with interment following at Niagara Lake Shore Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Mennonite Central Committee (MCC).
