Obituary of Pauline Stoner
(Annie) Pauline Stoner (nee: Shorthouse) – we are heartbroken to announce the passing of our loving mother on July 27th, 2023, peacefully with her family by her side. Pauline was in her 89th year and was predeceased by her husband Murray Elgin Stoner (1998), her son Jack Gordon Stoner (February 2023) and four brothers John, Fred, Richard and Bud Shorthouse. Pauline was a devoted mother to Len, Jack (Jodie), Brenda-Lea (Chris) and Donna (Graham). She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren Shannon, Darren (Sherry), Blake, Bailee (John), Riley (Matthew), Brittney (Andrew), Dylan (Mayla), Ryan (Valerie), Madison and Sherridan.
At the young age of 21, she married her forever love Murray on June 19, 1954. Shortly after they bought the family house on Barry Drive in Beamsville and made it a loving home where they raised their 4 children and celebrated countless family gatherings. Pauline was a devoted wife and loving mother who always put others first. She had a cute sense of humour and to know Nanna was to love her.
She loved animals and spent many hours watching all the birds feeding at her front window. She loved all her grandpups; Cricket, Gryphon, Odin, Luna, Tigger, Rue, Alice and Buma.
In accordance with Pauline’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:30am at Bethany Community Church (1388 Third Street Louth, St. Catharines) a light luncheon will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
