Obituary of Marlene Diane Matt

With sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of our mother Marlene Diane (Cripps) (Heim) Matt on October 18, 2023.  She passed away peacefully at St Catharines General Hospital after a short stay.

She is survived by her daughter Linda (Terry) Janzen and her son Frank (Teresa) Heim.  Also survived by her grandchildren Ryan, Courtney, Andrew, Joe and Emily.  She was a loving great grandma (GG) to Brayden, Cole, Paisley and Christian!!  Her surviving siblings are Sandra (Frank) Souter, Marion (Frank) Latham and Alan (Shirley) Cripps.  Special mention to Nancy and Matthew !!  And numerous nieces and nephews.  Mom was predeceased by her first husband Frank (1984) and her second husband Roger (2005). Mom was loved by many!  And it was evident by the number of family and friends that came to the hospital.

Mom was born in Dunnville Ontario and was raised in Wellandport.  Her first marriage was to our dad Frank.  They made their life in the Niagara region farming!!  After his passing she met her second husband and moved to Carlisle.  After Roger retired they moved back to Niagara to spend their retirement years.  After Roger’s passing she spent her time with her family, friends and neighbours.

Cremation has taken place.

The family will receive friends at Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St., Vineland on Tuesday October 24, 2023 from 11am - 12noon with the memorial service starting at 12noon. A light lunch will follow at the Fireside Room.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society on behalf of Marlene.

The family would like to extend their heart full appreciation to the amazing staff of the 4th floor at St.Catharines General Hospital.  Your care of mom was over the top!!
