Obituary of Lorna Anne Thorn - Metzger

May 2, 1939 - October 23, 2023



Lorna Anne Thorn went peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour on October 23rd with family at her side at the age of 84 after a courageous battle with chronic kidney disease. Loving daughter of pre-deceased Fredrick Gordon & Lily (Eliza Jane) Thorn. Beloved mother of Kenneth Burke (Deborah) Douglas Cheetham (Carrie) Lisa Aiello (Robert) and William Cheetham. Cherished Grandma to Sean (Tanya), Gavin (Kate), Stephanie (Nick) Samantha, Alysha (Reid), Dylan, Zoe and Devin. Great Grandma to Steele, River, Larkin, Ryker, Weston, Finley, Jamie, Peyton and Ruby. Dear sister of Betty Daniels (Allan) and pre-deceased by Brothers Fred & Bill Thorn. Lorna is fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Special thanks to the Critical Care Team and the Emergency Department at Niagara Health St. Catharines over the past month. We appreciate Dr. Woodland and the staff at United Mennonite Home for their loving care and support since August 2021. 

Cremation has taken place. 

Visitation will be held at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes 3277 King St. Vineland, on Saturday, November 18th at 11:00a.m. with a funeral service to follow at 12noon. 

A private family Interment at Vineland Cemetery with a reception at the Tallman Fireside Room to follow.
