Obituary of Anna Hessels

Anna Hessels (nee Doggen)

“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever” (Psalm 73:26).

On October 24, 2023, Mom passed away peacefully into eternal glory in her 94^th year at Shalom Manor in Grimsby, Ontario.  Our Mother, Grandma and Great-Grandma will be sorely missed, but we rejoice that she is now free from the sufferings of this world and is enjoying pleasures forevermore at God’s right hand in glory.

Anna was the beloved wife for 61 years of John Tim Hessels†.  She is survived by her children:  Henry & Anita (Connie†), John, Alan & Liz, Ted & Yvonne, Rick & Teresa, Dave & Edna, Ken & Pam and many grand-children and great-grandchildren.

Anna was the second of five children born to Jan and Margie Doggen.  She is survived by two sisters, one sister-in-law and one brother-in-law in the Netherlands and one sister-in-law, Ann Oudman, in Ontario.

Visitation will be at the Wellandport United Reformed Church, 74082 Wellandport Rd, Wellandport, ON on Friday October 27, 2023 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm.  Private burial will precede the funeral service which will be held at Wellandport United Reformed Church on Saturday October 28, 2023 at 11 am.
