Anne, and extended family, please accept my condolences on Bob's passing. After the Walkers moved from the farm to the corner house at Lincoln Ave. and Elm St. they became good neighbours of our family. Growing up, I really enjoyed visits and chats with Fred and Vi. They were great people! Bob, was 24 years my senior, so we didn't know each other that well, but he was obviously a thoughful person; someone who paid things forward as they say. For me, as a young kid, he took me on one of my first fishing outings to Jordan Harbour. I caught a few sunfish! Somewhere I have a photo of my BIG catch. I hope Bob understood, that small gesture for one day in my childhood, played a part in my life long passion for the outdoors. Sister Joanne brought Bob's obituary to my attention tonight, and we will let mom (Shirley) know Bob has passed. Please know that it will rekindle neighbourhood memories, and mom will also be thinking of Bob and the Walker family. She would want me to pass along her sympathies as well.

Bob was my cousin on my father's side of the family. As children we were often together as our family shared in many family hosted times with dinners, picnics and lots of card playing. No event took place without a game of euchre. We shared the same grandparent's Cora & Jim Middaugh. During those years I would often spend time with Bob's mom and dad on their farm. Aunt Vi was a special Aunt to me and since she raised two boys and I think liked having a girl around she often invited me to come and stay over on their farm on Walker Rd. A memory that I recall was when Bob and I were kids and we brought the family pony "Topsy" into the house and directly into Aunt Vi's kitchen. She didn't get angry with us but laughed good heartedly .
As we grew older and we moved into different phases of our lives I would occasionally see Bob & Anne out at the Gateway for coffee or lunch. After that family funerals seemed to be the only times when we would connect. Sadly, that often happens in families, but when remembering Bob I recall he was a gentle man and a gentleman. He laughed and joked easily with a good sense of humor. A trait I think he inherited from his mom.
To Anne and nieces Devon and Lyndsay please accept our condolences on your loss.
Linda & Doug Holmes.

I met Bob for 32 years ago as we worked in Zenon Enviromental inc. in Burlington. Bob was such a nice guy. The friendly smile was always showing on his face. I was new in Canada at that time. My English was poor but he didn't mind I sat down beside him and the other co worker, John Lewis, in lunch time so I woundn't be too lonely. He gave me the chance practicing my English listening skill. Thank you, Bob!

As a co-worker and always a personal friend of mine for 37 years
Bob is deeply missed. Will miss our 3 hours talks on phone and longer talks when we get together over coffees.
My deepest condolences to Anne, Lindsay and Devon, and the rest of his family.
