Marilyn, we share with so many others, our sympathy to you, Sean, David, and Kyla,, in Andy's passing. The years pass so quickly but we know Andy was respected and appreciated by those he met daily, in his life as a teacher and as a community member. We met briefly over the years at family get-together and celebrations. At those times, it was always good to catch-up on the cousins and their activities. Those were good family gatherings for all of us who saw how quickly the family was expanding with little ones, now all grown. We hope these times and many others will bring you comforting memories in the days ahead knowing that Andy was an anchor for many in their growing years.

Marilyn and family, our condolences on Andy's passing! We recall the many hours he spent tutoring Marissa with her math. I can still see this big man sitting at the little kids table in our basement working quietly with her. He understood that all children do not learn in the same manner and patiently worked until she understood the concepts. We all saw beyond the gruff exterior. We knew there was a kind heart. Funny, after each lesson, there was little time for chit chat because he wanted to get home to watch JAAG on TV! I'm sure your family will miss him greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank you for these kind words and memories. Dad & his shows!
It’s true, Dad always tried to crack each person’s code as to their learning/comprehension style. It seemed to be his gift with so many. I know he enjoyed his trips down the road to tutor Marisa, he enjoyed it greatly he was so proud of her progress; I remember it well.
It’s comforting to know that so many saw that kind heart, it was truly centre stage the last number of years. He will be missed so much.

Mr Snedden was one of my most memorable teachers. I had him for Grade 5 at College Street ( his first year teaching there) and I was fortunate enough to have him again in Grade 8. Certainly one of my favorite teachers. Sending my condolences to his family and friends.

Mr Snedden was a frequent supply teacher when I was in elementary school at Caistor Centre. That was 18 years ago, and that smirk, dry humor and tough exterior is one I’ll never forget. He was always dressed so sharp! Teaching was what he was meant to do, and he definitely made an impact on his students.

He did like to look good! Although, in the last years he was either in plaid shirts or he was known for his trademark neon shirts, socks and shoelaces! The brighter the better. If you could manage to get a smirk, you cracked him.
Thank you for your words. He had a love of teaching and cared for his students, even if it didn’t always seem that way!

Both my sister and I had Mr. Snedden as a grade 8 teacher at College Street, although I remember him being quite scary and intimidating, he always had something witty to say and had a humor to him that I have always remembered. He always called my best friend and I Frick and Frack because we were inseparable. My condolences to the family, May he rest in peace❤️

That scary and tough man softened so much the last 15 years. Mostly as grand children came in the picture. He became a real softy. It’s probably shock most of his former students!
Frick and Frack was always the name of any twosome—-friends, my dogs, and even my daughters.
Thank you for sharing your memories.
