Jake was a treasure. A kindly spirit, a joyful disposition, a large heart toward people, a constant encourager, a grateful and humble God-lover, a glad servant. His departure leaves a significant gap among us, but his joy is now full.

Mr Wichert was my Bible teacher. He really helped his students to develop a nuanced view of the Scriptures. Not just names and dates but the hows and the whys. May his legacy live on.

I was a student at Eden in the 70's and Jake Wichert was my favourite teacher for the entire 4 years. I can still see him walking the halls of the school or into our classroom with a little bounce in his step and a smile on his face. He had a gentle soul and always looked happy. I saw him recently at my brother's funeral and wanted to go and say hello after all these years, but I was distracted with cousins who I had not seen in quite some time, so I didn't make it over to his table.

Our heartfelt condolences in the loss of your brother. Although there is great pain at this time, please know that time is the best healer and that God will provide what ever you need when you need it. Jacob is now in the mansion that Jesus said was there in the prepared room that was promised by Jesus Himself. God's Blessings to each of you.
