Obituary of Jacob Wichert

WICHERT, JACOB - loving father and grandfather, faithful husband, loyal friend, generous supporter, hard worker and great adventurer - peacefully went to be with his Saviour on August 17, 2013 while visiting close friends in Smithers, BC. He will be greatly missed by his children Kathleen (Peter) Braun of Charlotte, North Carolina, Paul (Leanne) Wichert of Thorold, Ontario, and Christine Wichert (fiance Andrew Hiebert) of Torrance, Ontario, his grandchildren Rob, Jessica, Bennett, Sydney Grace and Nathan. He is also mourned by his brother John (Grace) Wichert, brother George (Linda) Wichert, brother Walt (Edith) Wichert, and sister Marian (Victor) Loewen, as well as by many friends and family. He was predeceased by his wife and companion of 40 years, Hildegard (Klassen) in 2001, his brother Henry Wichert and his sister Louise Wichert. Friends will be received at CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY CHURCH, 1570 Niagara Stone Road, Virgil on Thursday 7-9 pm, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the same location on Saturday, August 24 at 11 am. Those who wish may give money in memorial to support a feeding program for impoverished school children in Burundi, Africa. Donations can be made through Cornerstone Community Church.
