As a growing young man, there are people I met short and long that injected very meaningful and significant input into my life, One of such is Papa Klaas Rot. His visit to Nigeria (Ifako Christian Assembly) always excite me as I know I will be hearing insightful spiritual message(s) which are always encouraging and comforting. Ever ready to be of help, a good listener, an amazing teacher of the word and an exemplary husband.
I had hoped that I will see you before you journey home Papa Klaus, but I am confident that being with the Lord is rather and far more important. Rest on Soldier of Christ, we shall one day be together again at the very feet of our Savior Jesus Christ.
My prayer is that the Lord comfort Mama Helga and the family. Amen!

My dear sister Helga, I offer all my love and prayer support for you at this time (as I know what it is to have my husband Ernie taken before me just 14 months ago. We have a wonderful loving God Who knows what a "broken heart" is and comforts to the uttermost! I am praying and thinking of you and your dear daughters Jan, Jennifer, Emeline, and Michelle and all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. May each one be drawn closer to Him " Who loves us and gave Himself for us." We wait for that call for the Church to be raptured and we all shall see Him "face to face" and rejoice with those who went on before. I love you and thank my Lord for the good memories of being together in Uganda and Kenya and seeing both of you serving with such love and compassion for the dear African brethren. May you have the comfort and knowledge of His purpose and plan for "you all" that are left here in this scene, until He calls us up. He is faithful! Much love, Marilyn

Papa Klaas is what we fondly call him here in Lagos, Nigeria. He was a father like no other. We saw in him the self sacrificing exemplary life of a Christian here in this world and learned from him, practically, what it means for us to have 'a blessed hope'. His answer to all situation is to always ' ..keep looking up'.

I have wonderful memories of Brother Klaas.
I have heard it said that ministry becomes effective and powerful when it comes from someone who is themselves living in the good of it. That was certainly true of our brother. His love for the Lord and the saints, and his joy was so evident. He was such an encouragement.
My prayers will be with Sister Helga and the rest of the family.
Looking forward to seeing Brother Klaas and you all SOON!

Our Dear brother Klaas is remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, godly wisdom and timely words. We treasure the memories and times we spent with him and our dear sister Helga in Balwyn-Melbourne, Australia. We also remember the love and kind hospitality we enjoyed at the home of Klaas and Helga.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family especially our dear sister Helga. How wonderful it is that we, not like others, have a wonderful and a glorious hope to see Our Saviour The lord Jesus and our beloved ones very soon indeed. The Lord is near.

We call him Papa Klaas, our beloved brother whose love for the Lord and the Lord's people is as the daylight. He was always there to encourage, to comfort and support us in every way possible. We will miss him, but are comforted that he has gone home to our Lord.
I remember about 15 years ago I saw him stressed, under the hot African sun at Ilupeju, Lagos working for the Lord and I said "Papa, take time to rest". He responded "there is no rest here, until I get home". Now he has gone to rest indeed, to be with the Lord in his eternal home. Though sad, but above all we rejoice that he ran the race well to his Master's glory.
On this side, we will forever cherish the memory of his life of service to the Lord and his his love for the brethren, looking ahead to that day when we with him along with all the saints shall together be in the presence of our Lord.

A moment in time is marked; a whisper of wind and a hush of silence; a valued voice no longer heard on earth; a whole is left in the testimony; an absence is felt in the heart of loved ones; but joy springs eternal with the loss in a moment of time.
