Obituary of Arno Bartel

Bartel, Arno – 1929 – 2018 Passed away unexpectedly in the early hours on Thursday, November 1, 2018, after a brief illness in his 90^th year; the beloved husband of Martha Epp (nee Kroeker) for twenty years.  Arno was the devoted and loving father of Marlene (Dick) Heidebrecht, and Ben (Bonnie) Bartel; adored grandfather of David (Sharon) Heidebrecht, and proud “Papa” of Dylan Seth and Karter Arno Heidebrecht; respected step-father to Randal Epp and Thomas Epp and step-grandfather to their children.  His one surviving sister, Anne Marie Enns, will miss him.  He was always the strong one in the family that everyone looked up to.  He was predeceased by his wife (Ella Jantz) in 1995, one sister, Natalie Lammert, and two brothers, Richard and Bruno, and one sister, Elly, in Germany.

Visitation will be at the Niagara United Mennonite Church, 1775 Niagara Stone Road, Niagara on the-Lake on Monday from 2.00 to 4.00 p.m. and from 6.00 to 8.00 p.m.  Interment will take place at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Celebration of Life at Niagara United Mennonite Church at 11:00 a.m.  Memorial donations can be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.
