Mr. Thiessen passed away the same day as my mother, Lillian Loewen, and their bodies buried the same day, Feb. 15, (my birthday). It is good to know that both are over their suffering and in the presence of the Lord looking into the brightness of His glory without needing to shield the eyes.
I remember listening intently to the wisdom that Mr. Thiessen spoke at the beginning of each men's Bible study at Tabor Manor.
Even though now it is several months later, I trust that you and your family will always be comforted knowing that he is with the Lord and out of harm's way and living life to the full in Heaven as we all one day will experience for those who know the Lord as their Saviour.

Dear Pepper! Walter, my brother at Tabor, shared with me by phone the day Harry died. Grace had already emailed me that Harry was in hospice and would soon be gone. So glad that Harry received hospice care, because I know how good it is. I volunteered in hospice for almost 10 years in our last city in Japan, and then for 7 years after we settled in Abbotsford.
I do not have many memories of Harry, but it was very special when you and Harry visited us in Abbotsford, BC several years ago, and that he was already quite sick when I visited you briefly at Tabor in May, 2018. I also knew Harry's brothers from when we were all single and working at Boese canning factory in Niagara. Just read the obituary now, and was so pleased to see how Harry was involved on a daily basis in his love for Christ. Perhaps he has already my Peter, too! I still miss him a lot, but I look forward to my turn, You had a wonderful long life together, praise the Lord!

I have such wonderful memories of Uncle Harry. My Dad had the pleasure of being a part of Harry’s Electric for so many years. He loved working for his cousin. After my Dad passed away, whenever I ran into Harry, he would always remind me of my Dad. His big handshake, his smile, his gentle teasing. I appreciated seeing him and talking with him, however brief the moment. I am so sorry for your loss, Pepper. They are all together now.
Love, Joan

Hi Pepper,
Elfrieda told me today about Harry's promotion to Glory. I will miss his phone calls that revived many memories of the early days of our time in Arnaud. God bless you and your family.
My sister Elsa is now renewing acquaintance with her parents, brothers and sister and Harry in Heaven

It has probably been thirty years since I saw Harry, he would have been Mr. Thiessen to me back then. He earned the respect of my father and subsequently also mine as our paths crossed many years ago in church and secular life. I remember him as an honourable man and faithful servant and it is wonderful to read of a life that finished well.
I wish the family much grace during this difficult time.

We will forever be thankful for Harry (and Pepper) Thiessen. What a wonderful legacy he has left behind! This godly man raised his son Tom very well who then raised his son, Ryan very well. In 2004, our daughter Heidi Johnston married into this family. Ryan Thiessen is everything we prayed for in a son-in-law. He loves the Lord and the church, and his wife and three daughters, Lexi, Kaylin and Maci. He has a strong work ethic and treats us with love and respect.
We are pleased that our granddaughters will be at the funeral with their parents so they can further learn what it means to walk faithfully with Jesus. They had spent time with their great-grandpa in the summer of 2016 and loved him very much.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the family. It is a bittersweet time. May God comfort each of you as you celebrate the life and Home-going of a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and dear friend to many. May God raise up more men like Harry Thiessen! - Ross & Bev Johnston, Surrey, BC
