Hi,
I work at the University of Toronto and John would bring wine for us. It was always a pleasure to see him. Smiles and short pants! He really brought a ray of sunshine with him. I will mis his visits and I'm so sorry for your loss. My sister also unfortunately died of pancreatic cancer. It's terrible how it goes undetected. All the best to his loved ones.

My condolences go to all of John's family and friends. I only worked with John for about a year at The Inn On The Twenty/Cave Springs but he was by far the most outgoing, kind, and positive man I know! He was a role model on how everyone should treat others. I will miss him dearly.

My condolences to John's family, I'm deeply sadden for your loss. I am also shocked about the terrible news. I knew John back in the year of the 2001 when I worked at the Inn on the Twenty Restaurant as a dishwasher, had worked with John for 15 years with Cave Springs Cellars, he was family to all of us as a friend and a co worker made us smile and laugh and to keep smiling no matter how tough our day was. He was a very cheerful person day in and day out always said hi when coming in every morning for my shift and say bye after my shift, he loved nature, and always ride his bike every spring summer day to work and back. He also welcomed new comers who were hired by the company no matter what ur job was, John was a outgoing person to talk about anything and quote told us to just smile never let anything bother or stress you out stay happy & fresh. John told me he bowled @ PlaMor Lanes in St. Catharines loved the game for what it was originally for to have fun, he never cared about competition average etc, but when someone got mad cause they bowl bad he still put a friendly smile on his face.
Im going to miss you John thank you for everything you done for me! R.I.P. my friend.

We are so shocked to read of John's passing. I had worked with John at the winery in the early 2000's, but since my departure George and I had kept in touch by either seeing him in the Village, riding his bike, or having a friendly chat at McDonald's after a delivery run. To all who saw or talked to "John Brown", he was Jordan Village and Cave Spring Cellars in a big part to his daily attire with his great personality!
We will truly miss his lively conversations, great smile, and humour as all those whose lives he touched. He was a gentleman and a very true friend who gave us a lot of laughs..
With deepest condolences to his family,
Jan and George Takach

Cathy, my deepest condolences to you and your family. I was extremely saddened to hear of John’s passing and was overwhelmed with memories of deep kindness that he extended towards my family and I growing up. While my father was battling his addiction John was always there providing some kind of support in my formative years. He helped me get a job at Domtar, we car pooled together, allowed me to store my car in his garage, lent me his much valued 1976 Olympic edition truck and always kept my mother’s spirits up in a time of great uncertainty. He was a pillar of strength and always found a way to bring a smile to our faces. He was like a father to me and I cherish the times he brought me to the Domtar company picnics to try and normalize my childhood from the things I was missing at home. I shed many tears after hearing this news and upset with myself for not keeping in touch as much as I should after moving to south western Ontario to raise my family.
I’ll always remember his optimism sense humour and will always hold on to the fond memories!
Rest In Peace my friend!
John Fafard

Dear Cathy, Diana, Jonathan and Shayne... It is sometimes difficult to put the right words together at times like this but it is so easy to say kind, wonderful things about John. John always greeted you with that constant smile, a hearty hello and his cheerful greetings, wherever you may have bumped into him, on his bike, walking or working. He was everyone's friend and made you feel important. Mom and Dad, (aka Uncle Jack and Aunt Verla), always thought of him as a special person as he was married to Cathy, someone that they had watched grow up from those early days on 7th St. Louth. Thinking of you, 'almost cousin'. Diana and Bob Bujas

John was always there to help when needed. When I had to go to North Bay and back the same day John was there to help me. We shared the driving which made the trip safe and enjoyable. His love of 50's and 60's music was amazing he knew all the songs and who sang them. Will really miss my buddy.
Sing and dance in the next world, John
