Obituary of Malcolm John Brown
Brown, Malcolm John – We are deeply saddened by the death of Malcolm John Brown, who passed peacefully and surrounded by love on October 2, 2019 at the age of 75.
A loving partner to Catherine, cherished father to Diana and Jonathan (Shayne) and proud brother to Shirley (Dave) and Joseph (Sharon); John was profoundly loved by all who knew him, and will be deeply missed. Preceded in death by his parents Leo and Ruby.
From Cape Breton to Jordan Station, John was best known for his kindness and his healthy sense of humour.
As an easy-going and loving man, John was a friend to many; it’s hard to not be noticed and strike up conversation with a man who wears shorts all year round! And despite being a thermatically challenged Leiderhoser, he never drank nor smoked; yet he was always the life of the party, and the first one on the dance floor (or table).
His kindness stemmed from his ability to take care of others, which made him the glue that held communities together. He helped out neighbours with any of their needs, and created a street that was like family. He took care to water the plants and caffeinate his fellow staff at Cave Spring Cellars, and created life-long bonds. He was Father John to many more than his immediate family; but his love and care for his wife and children was gentle and unequivocal.
He was strong as an ox, and his diagnosis with pancreatic cancer took us all by surprise, while John took it in quiet stride. Dad, we will be kind and we will take care of each other.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the "Inn On The Twenty" on Sunday, October 20 from 2 - 5 p.m.
Our love for him will forever endure. To remember John, please do something kind for someone today, and have a wild day.
