Obituary of Tina Pankratz
Pankratz, Tina – Deceased at the United Mennonite Home, Vineland, Ontario, on December 14, 2019.
Tina Pankratz (nee Andres) aged 93 years, beloved wife of the late Henry Pankratz, mother of Allen (Laura) of Edmonton, Alberta, grandmother of Elizabeth of Potsdam, Germany and David of Edmonton, Alberta, is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John and Margaretha Andres, sisters Mary, Margaret, Nettie and Nellie and brothers John and Abram.
Tina was born in Burwalde, Ukraine in 1926 and immigrated to Manitoba with her parents in 1929. She acquired her teaching certificate after World War II and taught for several years before her marriage to Henry in 1953. They moved to Vineland in 1957. Tina began teaching at Vineland Public School in 1958 and continued until her retirement in 1984. She attended the Vineland Mennonite Brethren Church for most of her years in Ontario. She enjoyed socializing with friends and volunteered at the United Mennonite Home for many of her retirement years before moving into Orchardview Apartments in 2003 and then into the UM Home in 2015. The family conveys its deepest thanks to the wonderful staff for the excellent care they provided for our beloved mother and grandmother.
Visitation will take place from 6 PM to 8 PM, Thursday December 19th at the Vineland Chapel of the Tallman Funeral Home, 3277 King Street, Vineland, ON.
Interment will take place Friday December 20th at the Vineland Cemetery with the procession starting from the Tallman Vineland Chapel at 10 AM. The main funeral service will begin at the Chapel at 11 AM with light refreshments served afterward.
