Obituary of Rex Pastor Montalban
Rex Pastor Montalban, age 65 of Port Dalhousie, passed away Saturday evening, January 11, 2020, surrounded by his family. Rex was born on March 18, 1954, in the Philippines. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary-Jo, son Kieran (Natalie), sister Vivien (William), sister-in-law Cathy (Craig), father-in-law Don (Mary Lou), loving nieces and nephews, Megan (Sean), Kailey (Aaron), Alana (Cesar), Adam (Vanessa), Michael (Chelsea), Matthew (Amy), nine grand nephews and niece as well as extended family.
Rex was a loving husband, father and friend to everyone. Rex loved sports, especially basketball and hockey, favoring the Raptors and the Leafs. Now retired, he’d worked in sales for 30 years. He also enjoyed watching and collecting movies. Rex was known for his love of photography. He often had his camera in hand and had a fantastic talent and passion for shooting events, people, landscapes and places. His photos were shared and admired by others on Flickr and Facebook. Rex had a big heart for his whippets. He loved Whisper, Ripley, Reid, and Toby, taking them on long walks with Mary-Jo and feeding them too many treats! Eating at restaurants, listening to live music, and spending time with family were his favorite pastimes. Every summer, Rex and Mary-Jo travelled and vacationed together. This past summer, they explored Greece, visiting Athens, Santorini, Mykonos, Oia, Pyrgos and Meteora and enjoying the food and beaches. Rex lived life to the fullest, buying his dream cars and travelling with Mary-Jo.
Rex, we loved you very much. You will be missed more than words can say.
Rex will be laid to rest at St. John’s Public Cemetery in Jordan during a private burial. A memorial service for Rex will be at Tallman Funeral Home – Vineland Chapel in Vineland on Wednesday, January 15, at 12:00 PM.
