Obituary of William Loewen

William Loewen, 83, of Virgil peacefully passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Hospice Niagara with family at his side.

He was born in Steinfeld, Ukraine on June 4, 1936. After a long journey through Poland, Germany, and Paraguay, the family settled in Canada in 1956. He was employed by Port Weller Dry Docks and Foster Wheeler, where he worked diligently to provide for his family.  He was married to Agatha (Klassen) June 21, 1958. They were married 61 years.

William is predeceased by his son John (1992), and leaves to mourn his wife Agatha, children Laura (Carl), Ed (Jackie), Dave (Monika), Marlene (Daniel), Lisa (Brian), many grandchildren and great grandchildren, and siblings Anna, Margaret, and Peter (Betty).

The family would like to thank the palliative care team and the nursing staff at Hospice Niagara for their support and excellent care.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 on Thursday, March 19, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes - 3277 King St. Vineland.  There will not be a reception gathering after the service.
