Ed and Matt, I am so sorry for the sadness and loss you are experiencing in losing your mom. She was such a kind lady and she will be dearly remembered and missed.
I will remember Aunt Margret as the most amazing example of courage and grace under fire. She experienced more than her share of real trials, but remained a joyful encouragement to everyone around her, always focused on others.
I have wonderful childhood memories of family Christmas parties at Aunt Margret’s, which always included a talent show from the younger nieces and nephews, lots of singing from everyone and of course lots of homemade desserts. I remember Aunt Margret as the best baker of buns and cheese braids. I went to her for a lesson once... I probably should have gone back a few more times. I remember Aunt Margret’s beautiful hydrangea gardens. My girls were just recalling that they even got to take some home when they visited. I remember the geschwister visits. Growing up, my parents would often plan visits with their siblings. I loved listening to my uncles and aunts laughing and sharing stories and memories. My best memories of Aunt Margret will be of her smile, her laugh and her joyful presence during these many visits.
Thank you Aunt Margret for the example of a life and a faith well lived.

Dear Edward, Matthew, Peter and Betty our condolence in the loss of your mother and sister.
I have very fond memories of your mother, her smile, singing in the Ladies Choir and the chats we had many years ago. I even just asked about her a couple of weeks ago.
Our thoughts and prayers go with you.

Marg was my youngest sister. She lived a life of kindness and generosity, with an excellent sense of humour. She found joy in the simple things of life....taking care of her family, cooking a good meal for family and friends, planting a garden (which included flowers ), and putting up some preserves... (the most delicious pickled cucumbers ever! ).
She was gifted with a beautiful alto voice and sang in numerous choirs and smaller groups, as a service to her church, seniors homes, and other special occasions. At times it was my privilege to sing with her and harmonize our voices in song.
Short outings with family and friends to local coffee shops and restaurants, to nurture and enjoy friendships, were one of her joys.
Hosting larger family gatherings at Christmas was another special joy for her, and so enjoyable for us.
Longer road trips to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the Christmas Store in Frankenmuth ( Michigan), Expo 67 in Montreal, and across Canada to BC were highlights.
When health challenges arrived on her doorstep, she chose to stay positive and resist complaining...." You go enjoy yourselves! I will be fine! Don't worry about me, Peter. I will be fine!"
Rest in peace, Marg!
Your boys, your family and friends will miss you!

I loved your mom/ sister Margret. I didn't talk to her often, but when I did I was always impressed with her positive outlook, even throughout all her health issues. And she had a good sense of humour too! I am happy that she is at peace, and in the presence of her glorious Saviour... but I am also wishing you all peace and comfort, as you carry this loss.
