To the wonderful family of Fred, our deepest and most heartfelt Condolences in the loss of your wonderful Dad, Grandfather, Uncle, .... my memories go back to 1974, when I married and moved to Beamsville and started working in our store Commisso's. The one that was set back where No Frills is now. Through working in the store, I met so many wonderful people who were customers in the beginning but soon became dear friends, and Fred and Della. Della I will always remember her beautiful smile and laugh, she truly lit up our store, and made me feel so good when she came in. Fred was a character, handsome, and we always had a good laugh when we talked about anything. I have beautiful, fond memories of them both and will treasure them always. You are all in my Prayers, and I can just see your parents meeting mine up in Heaven and sharing that glass of wine...

To all the members of the tightly knit Fracchioni family, we are deeply sorry to hear about Freddie’s passing. He was a remarkable man with a passion for life. The Sowa family grew up with the Fracchioni family in Grimsby and we all remember the many hours working, delivering, playing and eating at Fracchioni home and farms. We all have various funny stories to tell about Freddy but the greatest of all is that he left an massive imprint on our hearts! You are all blessed to have your dad living to his 90’s as a result of your reciprocal love and compassion. A beautiful man, husband and father in all respects!! In honour of your father, we have made a donation to Richmond’ food bank in his name. The Sowa family (Emilia and Heinz, Jack & Lisa, Andy & Chris and Yolanda along with all respective children).

Our sincerest condolences to the Fracchioni family. Growing up as neighbors of the Fracchioni family, we were fortunate to hear Fred singing regularly. In the summertime, Mom always enjoyed Fred singing as she could hear him while doing her housework 2 doors away. Outside Dad would take a break from what chores he was doing and look at me and smile while we listened to a verse or 2. Fred was a hard worker and had his own construction business. Della would be busy preparing fresh homemade Italian dishes during the day for the family. Us neighborhood kids would always enjoy playing over at the Fracchioni's as there was so much to do including hopping onto the seat of any equipment that was left behind that day and pretending to be working at the construction site too while Della kept a close eye that we didn't get into trouble. At the end of the day we could hear Fred, while leaning out of his pickup truck's window, singing at the top of his lungs, on his way home from a hard day at work, as he rounded the corner of the main intersection at the traffic signal, just 9 doors away from where he would finally be able to sit down and enjoy another fresh homemade meal. Sing on Fred and RIP.

We will truly miss Uncle Freddie. He lived life fully, whether he was working, singing, laughing, or dancing, whatever he was doing he threw his whole heart into it. In his life he had good luck, and bad luck, and more good luck and more bad luck, but what he had more than anything else was the determination to work hard and make his own luck, and that is why he was able to succeed. I am so glad my last memory of him is when we got together last fall, sitting around the table eating, talking and laughing, and Uncle Freddie started to sing for us so we all stopped to listen. My heart was full then and is now as I remember.

Our sympathy and fond remembrance goes out to your family. That photo of Freddie you posted says it all; a gleam in his eye that reflected his love of life and family. A hard worker, a proud father and grandfather, a bit of a philosopher and someone who loved large. Those qualities are also obvious in the children he raised. The obituary was well composed; a nice tribute to him and your mom. God bless him and all of you.

My deepest condolences to all of you. I remember Freddie so well! He was a great friend to my parents Albert and Viola. Your Mom and Dad were so kind to them and gave them a 25 year anniversary party at their home. I know you have lots of memories of your Dad. He was a real character and the world is a sadder place without him. Sympathies to your entire family.

As a 10 year old growing up on the Moyer farm, I remember one of my jobs was to call Fred and Ernie in for dinner when they use to work for my Father. As a result the only Italian word I ever learned from them was "mangaire". Over the past 60 years we shared many memorable laughs and good times. Richard and I wish to send our condolences to Fracchioni Family.

Luigi, Rosie, Val, Ernie. Your Dad was a very special man. I was ten when I first met him on the fruit farm at Cherry Avenue. He was so good to us as youngsters, always had a joke or something to cheer us up. I'll never forget the times that summer when Fred joined my family under a fruit tree each day for a very British afternoon cup of tea and a biscuit. He was a friendly open-hearted man in an Ontario that felt very difficult and different to us.
Funnily enough, Fred became my brother-in-law, one for whom i had a deep respect. It began one Christmas Day when I met the entire family of my husband-to-be all at the same time and place. Everyone was having a great family time-in Italian. Not one word of English, and only two people spoke to me. One was Fred.He sat down beside me and talked in English for the entire evening. To a very shy and quite awkward person, you can imagine what this meant.
Salute, Fred. You will be missed.
Aunt Jean.
