Obituary of Susan Lorraine Romain

Susan Lorraine Romain (Clifford) Feb 9 1948- Jan 26 2021

Mom passed away suddenly at home surrounded by family. Her passing was as peaceful as we could have hoped. With hands that told her life story she was a loving mother to Pamela, Stuart, Jennifer and Tara. Over the years her home was always open, and her love extended to many who came to think of her as a second mom including our spouses Dave, Kerri-Lynn, Virgil and Brad.  

Mom was friendly to everyone, could talk to anyone and she did just that.  She was stubborn , sarcastic, encouraging, nurturing, hardworking, and had a great sense of humour. She was a wonderful home cook who instilled the value of family meals. She was the master of bathing newborn babies, her confidence, care and love was evident as she expertly bathed each of her grandchildren Sydney, Ainsley, Ethan, Abbey, Jessie, Jhett and Capri in turn; the start to a loving relationship she shared with each of them.

Mom leaves behind many friends but her best friend, twin sister and roomy Sally will miss her sorely. A firm supporter of her brother Lee and his partner Eddie who chose a path less trodden predeceased her. Though separated by provinces she maintained a strong bond with her little brother Jay and his wife Denise.

By simply living her life she has given us bountiful moments of beauty and wisdom to carry us through. A gift that is truly immeasurable.

Due to the ongoing pandemic there will be a gathering at the family home at a later date.  In lieu of flowers please consider a random act of kindness. Mom would love that.
