So sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. We often look at the tree across the street which was planted for Kathy's birthday. We looked at the it on the day we heard the sad news. The tree reminded us of the stories we heard about Kathy, firmly rooted in God and its branches stretching up to heaven. May your family find comfort by the tree and its beauty.

Dear David, Meaghan, Hannah, Emily and Evan,
Thinking of you all today. That was a wonderful memorial service. What an articulate household!!! Your words were moving and expressed such deeply felt love for Katherine. We were enthralled and engrossed. Katherine's letter was beautifully written and captured the essence of her beautiful spirit.
We feel greatly privileged that "Ireland" got a mention!!! We are tearful but eternally gratefully to have known her.
Lots of love and we will keep in touch. Aileen and Malachi.

We were saddened to learn about Kathy's passing. She will be missed. One of Heidi's favourite memories was when she was a junior bride's maid at Kathy and David's wedding. It was a wonderful time and Heidi holds very fond memories of that special day.
We have been praying as a family each day during our morning devotions and when we tuck the children into bed that the Holy Spirit would provide comfort to all of the family.
Love and Prayers,
Jason and Heidi

We are so sorry to hear about Kathy's passing but we take comfort in knowing that she is with Jesus. I remember when Kathy was born on Mother's Day and what a joy she brought to the family. It was wonderful to see her grow into a beautiful Christian woman. She was very loved and she will be missed.

David and family, I was saddened to hear about the passing of Katherine. I had only met Katherine a few times, but liked her instantly (partially because of the way David spoke about the love of his life). I always looked forward to the Halloween costumes she would create for David. She was very creative. I hope you find some peace in your wonderful memories. Your family are in my thoughts and prayers. David and family,
I am deeply saddened to hear about Katherine’s passing. I only met her briefly a few times but David told so many lovely stories of her around the school staff room table that we all felt his love for her and got to know her as a wonderfully caring person. I had another insight into her generous spirit when I was gifted a copy of one of the books she authored. Reading her book felt very much like a friend writing to you. May your many happy memories of your time together bring you much comfort ‘til you meet again. My sympathies and prayers go out to you all.

I didn’t know Katharine personally. However, I know her son. Man did she raise an incredible guy! He is so full of God’s love, compassion and strength. I am so thankful for Evan. I’m certain that who he is today is a huge part of who she was. I look forward to meeting her officially one day. ♥️

A light in our world has dimmed as Katharine takes it with her. She is in the glory and bright lights of angels. She, an earthly angel herself. Sorry cannot touch the loss of such a person. Thinking about and praying for David, her forever love, and her children around whom her world of love revolved. All who knew her will never be untouched. In our own darkest of days, she was the ever-present beacon giving hope and encouragement. We will be always indebted to Katharine, God’s vessel and gift to all of us. She is our example. We love you, David and family. Greg and Donna

Katherine had a beautiful heart and warmth about her that you just HAD to experience. Her wonderful sense of humour and wit was extraordinary....you wanted to be around her !!!! Katherine was the epitome of “walking loved”.
Indeed this has been a long road filled with twists and turns. My heart breaks for David and the family - know you are circled in prayer. It’s awesome to have the confidence that Katherine is now basking in the light and love of Jesus

Being a friend with Kathrine and David was a blessing . Watching them fall in love was exciting. Kathrine help me with my studies and how to have fun. Kathrine lived with God being in the centre of her life, as a wife and a mother. I’m a better person to have had her as a friend. Sending massive hugs to the family and prayers.

Oh, how she loved!!!!
She was such a prayer warrior. I was blessed in 2010 by her love, support, and prayer as we cried together over the health issues that my son was facing. She was a comfort, and I will never forget her kindness to me.
Another memory that came to mind was a Christmas Production at Bethany Community Church. Evan was leading Worship at the front of house and I happened to look down at Katharine. She had such pride in her eyes as she gazed at her son. It brought a tear to my eye. She loved her kids so very much and lived her life for them.
To the Barrett’s... know that you are loved. Our hearts break for you. Know that I will follow Katharine’s legacy and be diligent to pray for peace, for comfort, and that you would feel His love during this time of brokenness.
