My condolences to Isabel’s family and close friends. Isabel was an admired colleague at BDSS. She always had time to share with others and support the amazing students she taught. One of my favourite times of each school year was the BDSS Plant Sale. The community had a wonderful opportunity to meet, interact, and purchase from the Horticulture students Isabel had lovingly taught. What a gift!

An inspiring woman who always had an encouraging word and could make me smile with her humour. I always felt great around Isabel and left our chats believing I could achieve anything.

My deepest condolences to Isabel's family.
Dizzy Izzy as she named herself, was my first childhood friend and neighbor. As often happens, we drifted apart in later years when both of our lives took us on different paths. But, I remember fondly, many shared adventures. She taught a 5 year old me how to swim in the Lake after each of her own lessons!
I was fortunate to see Izzy in May, 2015, thanks to mutual friend, Merna Pullin, who arranged a luncheon gathering of BDHS class of '61.
While Izzy's final chapter is now written, I will always be able to open the book.

In 1953 our family moved from England to be neighbours of the Listers, and picked fruit on Noel’s farm that Isobel later ran. My sister became friends with Isobel. As adults, Isobel and I taught in neighbouring high schools. Her horticultural program gave some students a home they didn’t have elsewhere in the high school environment. I am sorry to hear of her passing, and send my condolences to her family.

Dear Ingrid and family,
Isabel was a wonderful source of support to my son Chris when his father passed away. She created a special place in the horticultural room at BDSS and really nurtured the kids there as well as the plants. Sending you our deepest sympathy.

Heaven gained a beautiful Angel. I had Isabel as my grade 9 horticulture teacher many years ago, and she quickly became my favorite. I would visit her at her home after graduation, and though of her often as I grew older. Sending my love and prayers to her family and loved ones. This beautiful woman will be greatly missed.
