Obituary of Esther Marie Martin
Martin, Esther nee Reimer Dary - was born July 22, 1943 in Vineland. She was raised on a fruit farm. She always had the desire to be a nurse right from young. She realized her dream and worked as an R.N. for about 33 years. She became a Christian and was baptized as a teenager. She enjoyed travelling and went on several mission trips. She volunteered at Crossroads Ministries (100 Huntley) in Burlington for over 20 years. On her trip to Israel she met Joe Dary whom she later married. Unfortunately Joe passed away of a heart attack after only 4 ½ years of married life. After 7 years of being alone again she met Ed Martin through mutual friends from a previous mission trip. They married June 22/04. They spent winters in Vineland at Esther’s home and the rest of the year at Ed’s home in northern Ontario just east of Sudbury. Within the last year her health began to decline. She suffered a broken hip in a fall in Nov. and spent 3 months in hospital. She was diagnosed with Parkinsons and contracted pneumonia. She spent the last week of her life in hospital. On May 5 she passed away peacefully with her loving husband at her side.
She leaves to mourn her husband Ed, stepchildren Blake (Karen) Martin of Waterloo, Fay (Tom) Samuels of Kitchener, Heidi (Dr. Carlos) Martinez of Cambridge, stepgrandchildren Amanda & Abe Martin, April Samuels, Rebecca & Benjamin Martinez, her sister Louise (George) Schroeder of Stratford, her brothers Dan (Elaine Heinrichs) Reimer of Simcoe, Art (Erma) Reimer of Vineland, Harold Reimer of Virgil, and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Abe & Mary Reimer and husband Joe Dary.
