Obituary of Arthur Edward Wall
Wall, Arthur Edward
It is with great sadness that the family of Arthur (Art) Wall announces his passing after a brief illness on Monday July 26th at the age of 91 years. Art was born in Namaka, Alberta to Abram and Emilie Wall, where his family struggled on their pioneer homestead through the depression. This prompted them to move to Vineland, Ontario and Art spent the remainder of his life in St. Catharines and Burlington.
Art was known for his passion for singing, including leading the choir at St. Catharines United Mennonite Church for many years, as well as his dedication to work and his enjoyment of dining out with family and friends. He could often be heard conversing on a multitude of topics and he always had time for anyone. Art loved his family deeply and many memories of Taso and Vernon Lake are cherished. Above all, Art knew great love for his wife, Kay, who predeceased him in 2013 after 61 years of marriage. She kept him company up until his final days. Art is survived by his sons Douglas (Julie) and Gerald (Darlene). He will be remembered by his grandchildren Jaime (Sean), Shelby (Derek), Zack (Julia), Jeffrey, Brian, and Jacklyn. He will live on in his five great-grandchildren: Charlotte, James, Chloe, Bennett and Eleanor. Art was predeceased by his brothers Eldo (Ardythe) and Abe (Margaret) and is survived by his sister Hedy (Bill).
A service will be held at St. Catharines United Mennonite Church, 335 Linwell Road, on Friday, July 30th at 1pm, with Covid screening and protocols, masks and physical distancing. Interment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Care/Associated Services. Special thanks to the staff at Tabor Manor for their ongoing care of Art, especially during the challenges of the pandemic.
