Larry,
My condolences to you and your family.
I have many fond memories of Beamsville, and the Christies are part of those memories. When Mrs. Christie ( I always called her Mrs. Christie and she kept telling me to call her Muriel) moved into Albright she was on the Fifth floor with Mom. The first time I saw her, on one of my visits to Mom, she recognized me but could not place me.
I recognized her immediately and stopped. She knew me, but it had been many years and she was not sure from where. As soon as I told her who I was it was instant recognition. Mom was declining at that point and your Mom was trying to help wherever possible. One of the stories she told me was how she and Mom went out dancing when our dads were overseas during the war. She said they still needed to have a little fun. I have great circa1945 black and white photo of you and Ralph with Mom and Muriel.
I vividly remember Christie's Dairy Bar on King Street where, on my many childhood visits to Beamsville, I could get a double scoop chocolate ripple ice cream cone for 5 cents.
