Obituary of Anneke Henkman

Anneke Henkman (Reinalda), (87) passed away on the morning of Sunday, October 31st, 2021 in hospital at the Greater Niagara General.  Anneke was born on February 17, 1934 in The Netherlands as one of four sisters Gerda, Els, and Tineke.

Anneke with her late husband Helmut (1938-2012) immigrated to and built a family and careers in Canada, marrying in the spring of 1963 in Toronto, Ontario. She was a caring mother to and survived by Gabrielle (Domenic) Marroccoli and Monica (Richard) Bullmann, cherished Oma of Amelia (Alex) Shah, Victoria Marroccoli, Frankie Marroccoli, Daniel Bullmann, Christian Bullman, and, most recently, adored Omama to baby Domenic Shah.

An entrepreneur, a talented seamstress and always a socialite - Anneke and Helmut lived an extraordinary life together with a love for traveling and a passion for camping and meeting new people wherever they landed. Anneke will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Per both Anneke and Helmut’s wishes, there will be no services or funerals – the family appreciates all the warm wishes and comforting messages they have received and will continue to honour the memory of both Anneke and Helmut in perpetuity.
