Matt had such a fun attitude and he was such a joyful person to be around. The excitement in his voice and his laugh made talking to him so enjoyable. I can hear Matt’s voice saying, “Anthony! You’re an animal!” I remember how he would be doing air guitar and head banging to the best music. We have a lot of fun memories and good times to look back on. Sending all the strength in the world to his beautiful family so that they may find comfort through this tragic time. Until we meet again, buddy.

Renee and girls, Karen and Shane my very deepest condolences on the loss of such a wonderful man. I first met Mathew when he was just little and used to cut he and Shane’s hair after work. Then in later years spent time with Mathew and Renee. He was fun and friendly always treating me with respect. You will be forever missed. My prayers are with you Renee, Karen and Shane.

Matt is the best. The best kind of man you could ever meet. His love and genuine care for others can't be beat. Matt's true love was his wife and girls. So many stories and pictures he shared of his family with me. You were sooooooooo loved. It's wrong and unfair that Matt isn't here, its crushing. I am so sorry for your loss Renee, i can't even imagine.
CHEERS MATT, LOVE YOU. Kris

My condolences to your entire family. Your obituary has truly expressed exactly what kind of person Matt was and I feel very grateful to have worked with Matt over the years. His jokes made the shutdowns seem so much easier and we always made things work out and I will miss his charismatic smile that always made me want to smile right back every time I saw him. It is difficult to find the right words to express my sympathy to you Renee and your girls.
Rest easy and soar high Matt

Hearing this sad news made my heart hurt and took my breath away. I worked with Matt on a few projects at Dofasco. He was a kind, caring funny guy. Always willing to lend a hand or make you laugh with sometimes very inappropriate jokes. He and I spoke about road trips to Myrtle Beach. Told me some good places to stop along the way. He always had a smile on his face and always loved talking about his family.
He will be missed by all who knew him. Our condolences from 6 galv line.

We first met Matt during our first garage sale shortly after we moved to Beamsville. He walked up with a larger than life quality, and introduced himself. He was someone to take notice of; A real salt of the earth kind of guy. From that moment on, we have shared with Matt and Renée, many life moments as couples with young children. We spent countless evenings in their garage. Each family would get their kids to bed, and Virgil and I would wait to see the light on in the garage, it was the open invitation to drop by. The 4 of us would laugh, watch sports, have a drink and talk about anything and everything from family, work, projects, ideas, hopes and dreams. The annual Canada day celebrations, epic fireworks for any occasion, the hot tub'in, the bon fires and Matt's ice rinks. Memories of the Pearl Jam concert, the Leafs, the Hip, and Superbowl. Matt was genuine, benevolent, and so hard working. He and Renée together, were beautiful; so much warmth, devotion, love and friendship. He was a great Dad and a real family man. We will miss him honking his car horn every single time he passed the house. Matt will be incredibly missed. We will cherish him, our countless memories, and his friendship always.

A truly devastating loss. Matt was a one of a kind person. His infectious personality and sense of humour is something I had the privilege of witnessing everyday for the last few years. Working closely together we had become good friends. Always sharing stories of life and our families.
My deepest condolences go out to Renee, Viv, Lyla and Molly. I was fortunate enough to meet you last winter and see what a beautiful family you have. From the way Matt talked about you guys, you could really tell you were his pride and joy. He was a great man, and you all should be proud of him. He will be deeply missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know him.
Love you Matty

Richelle & I send giant hugs and prayers to Renee and the girls during this impossible time. Please know that we are here for you and for anything you need now or in the future. The world lost an incredible human the day we lost Matt. He would quite literally give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His laughter was infectious and his zest for life was inspiring. He was one of those rare friends that you could call out of the blue to ask for a favor and he would quite literally drop everything to help. His partnership with Renee was one of fairytales. You could feel the love they shared for one another when you spent time with them. He was such a devoted and fun dad. Although he was taken from his girls far too soon they will no doubt have memories that will last their lifetimes. Matt truly was one in a million. Miss you brother.
Love,
Ben & Richelle
