Obituary of Matthew Lawrence Kubik
Matthew Lawrence Kubik - July 2 1978 - November 20 2021
His family and friends knew him as a strong, loving, hardworking devoted Husband and Dad who always knew the right thing to say (even if it was inappropriate). Matt would light up a room with his smile, enthusiasm, his quick wit and sense of humor. He was a jack of all trades and worked extremely hard, taking pride in all his jobs, whether it was building a play house for his girls or a major under taking at ArcelorMittal Dofasco, where he worked much of his career, as a Millwright.
Matt was a leader, he was well respected, always there to lend a hand to everyone he knew, and even to strangers. Matt loved the outdoors - it was his favorite place to be. Trips to the cottage, boating, fishing and making the best fires, The Hip always the soundtrack in the background. On these adventures he made it his personal mission to ensure everyone had the best time. Matt lived 1000 years in the 43 years we had with him - he never stopped, he loved life and lived it to the absolute fullest, he made this world a better place and left his mark everywhere. Matt's voice and his laugh were larger than life and will echo in our hearts forever.
Matt is survived by his wife Renée and their three daughters, Vivienne, Lyla and Molly; his Mother Karen Kemp (Wally), Father Henry Kubik (Liz), brother Shane Kubik nephews Sam and Jake and their mother Sarah Bigger; Mother in law Marianne Allan (Dave), Sister in law Brandy Hillyard and nieces and nephew Jimmy, Emma and Lauren; Cousin who he loved like a brother Trevor Toth (Crystal) and their children Trent and Owen. Predeceased by his Grandparents.
He will be lovingly missed by his large extended family and so many close friends that he considered family.
