We are so sad to learn of the too-early passing of Jim Henry, our doctor for many years -- from the very begining of his practice until he retired. He was never in a hurry, always wise in his choice of referals to specialists. And we chucked that we had the same names as he and his wife -- Jim and Irene!

Dear Mrs. Henry and Family,
Our Family is sending you our deepest condolences as you mourn the loss of your beloved Husband and Father. Dr. Henry compassionately cared for four generations of our family for over 30 years. Through the many highs and lows that life unfolds for a multigenerational family, the constant was, the comfort and assurance that Dr. Henry was always there to help. He listened, he cared and His calm, kind demeanor led Him to the perfect profession of being a doctor. He made many home and hospital visits to ensure our well being.
Through many discussions with us He did often boast about how He loved his own family life. He was always talking about His four girls and Wonderful Wife. Camping, horseback riding, and many holidays in Algonquin park were discussed. His face lit up with pride when sharing stories about his adventures with his Family.
He will be missed by all the lives he touched. A life well lived.
May He rest in eternal peace, and we hope your memories bring you comfort.
The Johnston, Grant and Nickerson Families will be ringing the church bells and saying a prayer at St. John’s Anglican Church (Port Dalhousie) on Sunday December 18th at 12 noon in honour of His legacy.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Dr Henry. We just recovered over his retirement. I used to enjoy taking my mom in for her appointments and listening to the banter between the two. My mom ( Barb Watson) an avid leafs fan and Dr Henry Sabres fan. My mom had a previous stroke and walk slow and Jim would point out she was a slow as the leafs defense. This would get her to laugh so loud you could hear her throughout the office. She even made him a wool craft that said Go Leaf Go and that he hung on his office wall. He was truly a wonderful person. Our sincere condolences to Irene and his girls.

Very saddened to hear of Dr. Henry's passing. I am sending good thoughts to Irene and daughters. Dr. Henry was always an extremely kind and approachable person, not to mention a skilled physician and an exceptional advocate for his patients. Dr. Henry was the first person to sign my cast when I fractured my wrist at the age of 8! I remember that he wanted to make sure I was okay soon after the fracture. Later, in my teenage years when I was very ill, he deduced that I had mononucleosis, and of course, his deduction proved correct. My family appreciates all he did to look after us through the years.
All the best during this time,

It is with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of my cousin Jim. Although we had not been closely connected over several decades, I was close to his father and mother. Through them I was kept abreast of Jim and Irene and their beautiful family.
When Jim’s father Jim Sr. passed away, Jim called me to tell me and we had a very long conversation and promised to stay in touch. Not long after that his wife Irene contacted me to let me know what had happened to Jim and that he was in hospital. I am so grateful that she kept in touch with me and that we could reconnect in the fall at her in-laws interment. It was there that I met Jim and Irene’s beautiful daughters, of whom I had heard so much about over the years from their very proud grand parents.
Although we have not been close over these numerous years, we are still family and Jim’s passing saddens me greatly. My condolences to Irene, his daughters, his sister Pamela and his brother Paul who will all miss him greatly.
Please keep his spirit alive by remembering and talking about Jim and all he accomplished in his 69 years. He will be missed!
