Aunt Helen, Karen, Mark, and families: I am so sorry for your loss. Though I don’t know any of you well, I still love you as family and grieve with you. I remember Uncle Fred as so interested in people, giving close attention to what they were saying. He seemed to embrace the moment and life in general. I enjoyed his sense of humour and his gentle laugh. I know you will all miss him a lot - you aren’t forgotten in my heart and prayers as you walk this road. With love and tears, Sheryl (Reddekopp) Van Wert

Helen & family, our sincere condolences. We were neighbours with Fred and Helen for a short time in Heritage Village. Fred was always so kind to us. May your wonderful memories bring you comfort in the days to come.

I would like to extend sincere condolences to the entire Neufeld Family. The loss of Fred is like losing a ray of sunshine. I met Fred while working at the EHC. He became involved, actually he was totally committed, to helping us at the EHC set up community gardens. He put in considerable time getting details organized, shared his amazing knowledge and skills related to gardening, and used all his resources to ensuring the project was a success. Throughout he demonstrated amazing kindness, patience, concern, thoughtfulness and had an ever present smile and optimism that encouraged everyone around him to give their best. (While getting to know Fred I also discovered he worked with my Dad at TRW.) He was truly an amazing and inspirational individual. And incredibly modest and reticent about his contributions! Though the family has experienced a huge loss, may he now have his eternal peace and rest. It was my privilege to have known Fred.

Oh my! It has been a year of losses. In 1967, Bob and I, with Fred at the wheel of his V8 Mercury, drove to Montreal, Expo 67. I remember, with great clarity, that it felt like a great escape. It was, indeed, a huge adventure, still remembering details of that trip, some 55 years later. The Neufeld family were a huge part of my growing up years. I left Vineland shortly after that notorious trip to Montreal, but the fond memories linger. Thinking of you all as you remember and as you grieve.

Fred was one of my favourite Sunday School teachers. Such a sincerely genuine spirit and personality. I credit him for teaching me how to stand up for what you believe while being soft spoken and firm st the same time! I think God would be well pleased with His creation in Fred. Blessings upon your family Mary Anne and Tom.
