Obituary of Daniel Eugen Hauber

Daniel Eugen Hauber 1934-2023

Daniel passed away peacefully in Welland on Thursday, February 9, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his loving wife Doris, his children Peter (Michelene), Tim (Selima), Miriam, and Jonathan, grandchildren Ian, Thomas, Simon, Malcolm, Johan, Makayla, Yemaya, Naomi, and Jeremy. Predeceased by his brother Lukas of Switzerland.

Daniel came to Canada from Basel, Switzerland, in 1957, and spent many years working in Beamsville and Grimsby at Ickes Braun Glasshouses, C. Frensch Ltd., and Believer’s Bookshelf.

He was a devoted member of Vinemount Christian Assembly and frequently involved in camps, conferences, and more.

He was an avid gardener, photographer, and traveler, who loved visiting, hiking, and taking dips in Lake Ontario, always with a thermometer in hand.

After strokes and a heart attack, he spent 6 years at Woodlands of Sunset, and the family greatly appreciates the care he received there.

Family will receive friends at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St, Vineland on Sunday, February 12 from 2-4:30pm.

Memorial Service to take place at Vinemount Christian Assembly, 583 Tapleytown Rd. Stoney Creek on Monday, February 13 at 1pm.
