Obituary of Elli Lina Muench

Elli Lina Muench (nee Stenzhorn), beloved wife of Walter Muench, passed away peacefully in her 100^th year in the St. Catharines General Hospital on Saturday, February 18, 2023.

Predeceased by her son Withold, she is lovingly remembered by her daughter Dorothea (Roland), her grandchildren: Aaron (Trena), Stephanie (Jozsef), and Jeremy, and her great grandchildren: Gabriel and Malcolm.  Born into a family of five children, she leaves behind one remaining sister, Waltraud Klee, of Niederwoerresbach, Germany, and many nieces and nephews, all in Germany.

Elli loved the Lord and was truly the center of her family. She will be remembered by many for her open-hearted hospitality, and her willingness to help anyone in need. Many were comforted by her listening heart and her empathetic fellowship.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life at the St. Catharines United Mennonite Church on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11:00 am with visitation prior to the service. Memorial donations may be made to “Operation Smile,” a favorite charity of Elli’s.
