Ann was the most vivacious, upbeat woman I’ve ever known. She could brighten up any room she walked into. I met Anne when we were teenagers working at Westinghouse. By day, Ann was the perky and popular mail girl. By night, when Jim worked the afternoon shift, Ann would be out tooling around in his red convertible. The MacDonald Christmas parties were legendary: friends bringing friends who became Ann and Jim’s friends. Likewise, their summer pool parties in Grassie. Jim was the great chef in the family, thank goodness. Ann only knew one thing to make: “reservations”. Despite their loss of infant son D'arcy, and Jim’s ongoing health problems, Anne was always there for Jim. She was truly a comfort to him and a good friend to many others.
