Marta Funk

(August 22, 1935-June 6, 2023)

After a life filled with faith, family and friends, we sadly announce the passing of our dear mother and Oma who went home to her Lord and Saviour in her 87th year. The last four years of her life had its struggles and those struggles and chronic pain have now been lifted after a short illness. Loving wife of Arnold (1983), her children Christel (Steve), Arnie (Nancy 2014) (Kim), Monica and Herbert (2007) (Heidi). 11 grandchildren, Patti (Matt), Jeff (Kate), Brittany, Brandon, Alex, Morgan, Jessica (Chris), Ashley, Jodi-Lynn, Joshua and Hilary (Taylor). And her beloved 12 great grandchildren who gave her great joy. Marta loved her family with every inch of her life. As long as she was able, she never failed to call or tell her family she loved them. The family thanks Tabor Manor for the wonderful care she received through her 3 1/2 years there.

Visitation will take place at Scott St Mennonite Brethren Church, 339 Scott St., St. Catharines on Sunday, June 11 from 6 – 8pm. A private family interment will take place prior to the service. A Celebration of Life will be held at the church on Monday June 12, 2023 at 11am. If desired, donations can be made to Mennonite Central Committee.
