February 6, 1934 – September 7, 2023

Joe passed away peacefully at home in his 90^th year surrounded by his family.  Survived by his loving wife Frances of more than 66 years, daughters Josi (Tony; Lorenzo d. 2007), Helen (Scott), Annie (Tim), Maida (Rob), Linda (Doc), grandchildren Rosie (Matt), Frances (Brandon), Katie (Lou), Natalie, Rachel, Kobe, Robbie, Jake, Abigail (Chris) and great grandchildren Jordan, Brady, Josephine, Danny, Gracie, Annie, Rosie, Elliot and Zachary.  Jozef was the eldest of eight born to Martin and Jozefa Kobe in Slovenia.  He leaves behind siblings, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.

He first came to Canada in 1958 with wife Frances and their firstborn in search of a better life and dreams of owning a vineyard.  He was a hardworking humble man whose generosity, humour and zest for life was experienced by all who met him.  His faith in God was the foundation for all he did, and with Frances and his family by his side, his dreams were fulfilled.  We will always be grateful to Dr. Gruber, Dr. Lepp and the team at HCCSS for their care.

Visitation will be held at Tallman Funeral Home in Vineland on Monday, September 11 from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm, with prayer service at 6 pm.  On Tuesday, September 12 a prayer service will be held at 11 am at Tallman’s Funeral Home with burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery.  Donations may be made to Food4Kids Niagara.
