Obituary of Guy Edward Stopard

Stopard, Guy - It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Guy Edward Earnest Stopard who passed away peacefully at his home in St. Catharine’s on January 20th, 2024 at the age of 81. He was surrounded by his loving family.  Guy will be greatly missed by his wife Margaret, sons Tom (Tammy), Bill (Stacey), daughter Tracy, and grandsons Tyler and Brandon.  Guy will also be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. He is predeceased by his parents, Tom and Hazel, as well as his sisters Iris, Delores and Jill.

While we are saddened by his passing, we know that Guy is now safe in the loving arms of our God 

Guy spent his life in service to others dedicated to serving God as a Minister in the Church of Christ. He had a deep love for all people having a special place in his heart for the young. This was demonstrated by his years of fostering young children, working with teenagers through child care agencies, and directing young people groups within the church and at Christian camps. He is well known for his sense of humour and was a bit of a harmless prankster. Most of all he loved and was loved by his family. Guy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Cremation will take place. A short memorial service will take place on Thursday January 25 at 2 pm at the Ontario St. Church of Christ 439 Ontario St., St. Catharines. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
