Bonnie & family: I’m very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing. I was born and raised on the Read family farm (now the Wayne & Linda Lockey property). Joe was two years older than me, but I always remember him joking with us younger kids as we walked to catch the school bus to our respected schools ( SS #7 North Pelham or Fenwick High School ). He was a great storyteller and my cousin Donna Stewart, who worked with him at the hospital said he always had a calming influence on those around him. He was one of the good guys - salt of the earth ! I remember the pie socials at the Rockway Community Centre and waiting to have a slice of his Mom’s delicious pies after Joe had first divs. I hadn’t seen you or Joe since you attended my Mom’s visitation upon her passing in 1996. I’m sure many of Joe’s stories will be passed down through the generations, thereby keeping him with us for many lifetimes. He will be sorely missed. To Bonnie and family, I would like at this time to send my sympathy to all of you, I have known your family for years, as a friend at the Rockway hall over the years, I was greatly saddened about reading this, I am hoping to come to the visitation on Sunday, I'm not able to come to the service at the Church on Monday. my thoughts and prayer's are with all of you, love Judy Brooks and family.

I had the pleasure of working with Joe in the late 1980’s at the SCGH on C3W. A kinder , gentleman, there never was, I enjoyed listening to his stories of growing g up on the farm, as we shared a common friend, He spoke of his “beloved Bonnie” often.
