George Woodward

Obituary of George Harry Woodward

Woodward, George Harry - Peacefully, on September 28, 2020, at Hospice Niagara, in his 74th year, George has gone to Heaven as a good and faithful servant.  Devoted Husband to Marilyn for 47 years and loving father to John (Kiersten), Steven (Andrea) and Kevin Woodward.  He was a proud grandfather of Courtney (19), Marcus (17) Caitlyn (14) Callie (11) Avery (6 mths) Mya (8) and Austin (11), Eloise and Lucas.

George was born to Harry and Clarice Boardman on February 13, 1946 in Hamilton.  He started out in car sales, and was introduced to Marilyn on a blind date, their relationship blossomed, and they were married in October 5, 1973.  For many years, George was Vice President at Thomson Gordon, until he heeded the call of the Lord to become an ordained minister in 1993.  George served as Dean of Students for World Impact Bible Institute where he was able to touch thousands of students and made a positive impact on their lives.  He went to work with Open Bible Faith Fellowship and continued to travel and teach extensively until his illness prevented him from doing so.  George authored several books which were an extension of his love for God and his vision of the church.  To the end, George’s faith was unwavering, and we know he is now at peace in Heaven with his Lord and Savior.

We would like to thank his nurse, Susan, and PSW Angelo, for all their help over the last few months.  Thank you also to the amazing staff and nurses at Hospice Niagara for their care over his last few days.
