Obituary of James David Seymour

James David (Dave) Seymour - March 28, 1946 - July 20, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather. After a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, Dave passed away at home with family by his side. He leaves behind his wife of 48 years, Barb (nee Allen) and daughters Sarah Seymour and Becky (Michael) Aston. Dave will be missed and lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren, Logan Sargeant, Noah Sargeant, Isaac Aston, and Claire Aston. Survived by his sister-in-law Judy Allen, brothers-in-law Jerry Allen and Jim Allen, and cousins Mary (Brian) Boden, Nancy Glover, Peter (Henke) Glover, Kedra (David) Sugg. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Jean (nee Dobrindt) Seymour, cousin Allan (Sue) Jones and Daryl (Stan) Czech, and son-in-law Grant Sargeant.

Dave was a long-time employee of Petro Canada, retiring from their Toronto office. Dave was a life long sports enthusiast and an avid fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. He enjoyed attending Junior League hockey games all over southern Ontario with his sports buddy Ron Walmsley. One of his dreams was to visit every Major League baseball park in North America. In the past few years even his grandchildren were involved in this mission. But due to CoVid he was never able to realize his dream.

Due to CoVid restrictions, pre-registration for visitation is required.  Please follow this link to register for visitation on Sunday July 25 from 2-4pm at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes 3277 King St., Vineland.

A service will be held, by invitation, at 11:00 am on Monday July 26 with interment at Mount Osborne Cemetery to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
